  • Moving Update Part 2

We have packed up the car and tomorrow morning we start driving north.

If all goes well, we will be in Portland in time for dinner.

Sunday, we drive around some neighborhoods and do some shopping.

Monday, we see some apartments.  Hopefully, we will find a good one.

If not, we see more apartments on Tuesday.  Repeat until suitable short term abode is apprehended.

Part of the challenge is keeping within the budget.

I hope all goes well and we are back home Wednesday but it could drag on until next weekend....

  • Moving Update

I am transfering to a position in a different department in my company.  It means more money but also a move from San Francisco to Portland, Oregon.

Yes, I will be moving to Portland in February and Chuk will be staying in the SF Bay Area to follow up on some job opportunities for the short term.  We will still be a couple, just in a long distance relationship for a while.

  • Xmas Update

Hooray!  Chuk is back from Tennessee!

And he brought back some country ham!

  • Dead-a-thon 2007 Update

My parents and I watched 3 zombie movies today for our first annual Dead-a-thon

    Night of the Living Dead

    Return of the Living Dead

    Shaun of the Dead

Each was very gory and entertaining in their own way.  We liked the nods that the second two movies gave to the original.  I will let you watch them to figure them out for your self.

  • Seasoning Poll

Has anyone reading this post ever used a spice blend called Beau Monde?

I bought it for making a cheese / meat appetizer the recipe for which I have misplaced.  I was wondering if anyone else uses it.

  • Geek Update

We watched Battlestar Galactica: Razor last night.

I am not a fan of stand alone TV movies that are supposed to help fill in gaps between the episodes of a TV series.  Razor was one such movie.

I also am not a fan of the liberal use of flashbacks especially when they are used to create dramatic effect around a "secret " plot point that anyone with half a brain could have figured out in the first 15 minutes.  Razor had copious amounts of flashbacks and it was hard for me to keep track of where or when I was in the plot.

I think it would have been much better if all the bits were stringed out in chronological order.

I did appreciate the nod to old TV series with the use of the old model of Cylons.  That was about the only thing that was exceptional.  I don't know if it was worth the rest of the stuff, and some may say it was a bit contrived, but I am glad they worked it in.
