Crochet Update
Finished the hat!!! Hooray!
Wore it on Saturday Sunday and it was soooo itchy. Booo!I also completed the edging on the afghan. Once I get some decent light, I will take photos of each block again and of the whole thing.
Started on a scarf using the same color yarn as the hat. I am using one of the patterns I did for the charity blocks.
I sent those off last Saturday, but I am told there is a box of crochet squares my grandmother made waiting for me at home which I can go through and donate worthy pieces to charity.... Difficult to part with stuff like that but I think it will serve the most good if I do so.

RYC: If I suggested an international independence day, Im sure the Diversity Nazi's would be up to it.
Is the hat made of wool? I get so itchy in any wool, even the really nice stuff.
To answer your question about the mini baskets, it is hard to guess how long it took. I did it over a series of a few weeks, working on things while watching TV. My best guess would be somewhere around 20 hours. I like the idea of the plastic wrap and bow!
Sounds beautiful. And thank you for the card! I love butterflies and poppies! I will make the soup for Thanksgiving. As soon as I get my lazy heinie out the door and over to the post office, your reply will be on its way.
